Proper positioning when praying voluntary prayers in the masjid

When praying Sunnah, Nafl, or Witr Salah in the masjid, one should choose a suitable place, preferably at the side, in a corner, behind a pillar, or otherwise away from the normal walkways and doorways. If one is praying in an open area where there is a possibility of people passing in front, it is preferable to place a sutrah in front of him. Furthermore, one should avoid positioning himself in a manner that obstructs or prevents those who have completed their Salah from leaving the masjid. While one should be mindful of not passing directly in front of someone who is praying, the person performing Sunnah, Nafl, or Witr should also be considerate and choose a place that does not unnecessarily inconvenience others.
