Answer

Sleep paralysis could, but does not necessarily, involve jinn -- sometimes it may, sometimes it may not. Take precautions before sleeping: make wudu; blow into your hands, recite Ayat al-Kursi and the three "Quls", and wipe it over your body; sleep on your right side, and Allah willing you will be protected from the interference of jinn. In addition, say: *A'udhu bi-kalimati Llahi al-tammati min sharri ma khalaq* (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), and: *Bismillah alladhi la yadurru ma'a ismihi shay'un fi al-ardi wa la fi al-sama', wa huwa al-sami' al-'alim* (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing).
