Changing the tone of the takbeer as a signal while leading salah

Question

If one is leading the salaah, is it okay for them to change or alter the tones of the takbeer as a form of communication — e.g. louder and drawn out during continuous movement, softer and calmer when there is a stop for tashahhud?

Answer

This is actually recommended. Al-Bahr al-Raʾiq (Ibn Nujaym): *وَشُرِعَ التَّكْبِيرُ لِلِانْتِقَالِ لِيُعْلِمَ الْمَأْمُومِينَ بِانْتِقَالِ الإِمَامِ* — "The takbir for movement was legislated to inform the followers of the imam's transition."
