Congregational Witr outside Ramadan for teaching

Can witr be prayed in Jamaat outside Ramadan in a masjid for learning purposes and encouragement?

Answer
Burhan al-Din al-Marghinani states: *ولا تُصلّى الوتر بالجماعة إلا في رمضان* — "Witr is not performed in congregation except in Ramadan." Even if the reason is teaching or encouragement, it should not be a formal congregation organized in the masjid. You can encourage them to pray individually, and you may even demonstrate to them how to pray if they do not know.
