Giving zakat to one's own NGO
Question
If a person owns two companies, one of which is an NGO doing charitable work year-round, is it permissible to give some of his zakaat to his own NGO?

Answer
*Wa alikumus salaam.* A person cannot give zakat to an NGO they own unless it strictly follows zakat eligibility rules and distributes funds directly to the poor and needy without benefiting the owner. If the NGO uses zakat for general expenses or salaries, it is not permissible. However, if the zakat is placed in a separate fund and fully given to eligible recipients, it may be allowed.
