Tying red strings on oneself or one's property is a practice found in several Asian cultures and religions, believed to carry protective power or attract good luck. From an Islamic perspective it is impermissible, as it involves belief in protection from other than Allah and imitates a purely non-Muslim practice. *And Allah knows best.*
