Leaving prayer early due to feeling unwell

Question

If someone is not feeling well and feels like they might throw up while praying in the front or middle row, can they walk out even though they would have to pass in front of people who are praying?

Answer

Although passing in front of people who are praying should normally be avoided, in this situation there is a genuine need. He should therefore leave in the least disruptive manner possible, such as going to the side or back. If he has to pass in front of several people because there is no other practical way out, there is no sin upon him for doing so due to the necessity. He should not remain in the masjid merely to avoid passing in front of others and risk vomiting and soiling the masjid.
