Answer

*Wa alaykumus salaam.* When appointing a Mu'adhin or Imam, preference should be given to the most righteous, religiously upright individual who also upholds the outward sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. It is makruh (strongly disliked) to appoint someone less qualified when a more suitable person is available. However, if a beardless person calls the Adhan or leads the salah, it remains valid.
