Can Muslims enter mandirs and churches for touring, political campaigns, or medical outreach?

Answer
According to the Shafi'i School, it is makruh (discouraged but permissible) for a Muslim to enter a non-Muslim place of worship if given permission by a member of that community, there are no depictions of idols/false gods, no contact with najasah, no harm to the Muslim, no veneration shown for their sacred symbols, and the Muslim's iman is unaffected. If any condition is absent, entering is haram; for touring/sight-seeing specifically it should be considered haram, since it necessarily involves veneration with no clear benefit.
